JAMB Subject Combinations & Course Choices

Before choosing JAMB tuition, confirm the subjects required for your intended university course. Science, arts and social science labels help you organise study, but they are not a substitute for the exact course and institution requirements. Your first and second university choices may need separate checks.

Check the official brochure for each choice

Use JAMB’s Integrated Brochure & Syllabus System and each institution’s current course information. Record the UTME subjects and the O-level requirements for the course. Check any listed exceptions or special conditions. Keep a copy of the information you relied on.

Do not choose subjects only because they are easier

A subject combination should match your intended course and accepted requirements. If you are considering Medicine, Engineering, Law, Business Administration or another programme, confirm the institution-specific conditions before registering. This page does not invent one universal combination for every university.

Choose the tuition that matches your study needs

In Reflection Academy, choose your exam programme and the subjects you want to learn. Select an approved instructor yourself or use the rating-based instructor choice where available. You can focus on one difficult subject or build a subject package. Buying tuition does not change your official JAMB registration.

Create a revision plan from your syllabus

List the topics in each selected subject and identify the ones you struggle with. Practise English comprehension, Mathematics problems, science concepts or arts and social science reasoning as appropriate to your combination. Review your test mistakes and adjust your next study session.

A worked example to try

Reflection Academy original example—not a reproduced past-exam question.

Original planning example: You have four revision topics and two hours. How long is an equal block for each?

Two hours is 120 minutes. Divide by four to get 30 minutes per topic. Adjust the blocks if a topic needs more work, and include a short test of understanding.

Common questions

Can I buy a subject package before confirming my JAMB combination?

Confirm your exam registration and course requirements first so the tuition you choose matches the subjects you need.

Are O-level requirements and UTME subjects the same thing?

Check them separately in the official course information. One describes the relevant school-leaving results; the other describes the subjects for the entrance examination.
